The new Santa Maria della Misericordia Hospital in Perugia is designed and implemented in two consecutive phases (reconstruction of the R. Silvestrini complex and new construction) so as to reach progressively the capacity of hospitalization of 900 patients.

The enlargement provides two morphologically freed and parallel blocks, offering 6 levels for hospitalization over a service level, which covers diagnostic and therapeutic services.

The enlargement and the existing building are linked with aerial paths made of glass and steel, trespassing the internal courtyards.
As a result of the new organization, the Hospital now enjoys a rational network of paths that increase the operational functionality of the whole facility, merging and integrating the new buildings to the existing complex.
