The masterplan for this project envisages the adaptation of a stretch of about 80 km of the link between Sassari and Olbia, with the adoption of a road section of type B, consisting of two lanes per direction, over 22.5 m.

The route runs for 6,400 m, with horizontal bending radii not less than 1,500 m and a design speed between 70 and 120 km/h.

The maximum vertical slope is 4.33%.

The design continues the horizontal and vertical alignment of lot 5, and provides the doubling of the existing SS 597 for all of its entire length.

Two junctions are placed at the far ends of the Lot, to be adapted in relation to the doubling intervention.

To ensure continuity of operation of local roads and the existing road network, the project involves the construction of 6.7 km of ancillary roads. The tracks of the latter are designed so as to minimize the consumption of territory, and to avoid great expropriation surfaces.
