Quadrilatero Marche Umbria is a strategic road network of national interest for the modernization and development of the country.

It consists of two parallel stretches, Ancona-Perugia and Civitanova Marche-Foligno, the last being deployed along SS 77 Val di Chienti, connected by the transverse line Fabriano-Matelica-Muccia and the branches of SS 77.

Works affect the sections 1.2: SS 77, 2.1, 2.5: SS 3.
The project envisages a 35 km-long dual carriageway, adopting section type B and design speed between 70 and 120 km/h.

The road platform has a minimum width of 24.5 m, given the adoption of a larger median reservation, for the benefit of the visibility curve.
The eight tunnels of Sub Lot 1 have a total length of 14,353 m while the six tunnels of Sub Lot 2 have a total length of 7,614 m.
The 10 viaducts span over 4.5 km.
