The unification of the hospitals of Marsciano and Todi implied the construction of a new hospital, which had to move in the direction of the redevelopment of the regional hospital network.

The nature of this hospital, according to the forecast of the Regional Development Plan, provides the following main functions: ER, scheduled short surgery, medicine for treatment of acute and sub-acute, specialist outpatient activity, assistance between medical departments and general practice physicians.

The layout is set to two buildings, each composed of three volumes connected by a spine path.
Particular attention is paid in respect of reception of the citizen, both as end-user and as a patient. The lobby is intended as a broad welcoming space. Double height emphasizes the activities of support and service, which represent the continuity between the hospital and the city.
