The airport of Lampedusa was born as a military installation during World War II. After the war and until the 60s the airport was abandoned. In 1965 the track was restored and in 1968 regular commercial flights began.
The new terminal consists of two boxes side by side, shifted longitudinally and separated by a narrow and higher volume.
The airport is organized on a single functional level, where all treatment and sorting of passengers and baggage activities take place, both on departure and arrival side.
The new car park located in front of the terminal has roads and lots that develop on terraces, adapting to the natural slope of the land.
The air side expansion covers 32,000 m2 and includes both taxiway and apron paving.
The project includes the works of collection, removal, treatment and disposal of storm water of paved surfaces of the apron, via a new sewer with an overall length of approximately 2,500 m.
