The new Salesi Maternity and Children’s Hospital is part of the University Hospital “Ospedali Riuniti di Ancona”.
It is an integrated autonomous structure within the Torrette Hospital.

The project is the winner of the International Competition organized by the Marche Region, and maintains the compositional structure presented in the competition.

Mostly for acute diseases, Salesi provides 200 beds and many services involving diagnostics and treatment, besides sanitary services related to the regional plan for hospitalization.

A Scientific Research area is planned, that uses the general hospital services but is relatively independent from the other healthcare functions.

The project, enhances the Salesi hospital’s characteristics as a highly specialized complex, a centre of excellence for clinical and scientific achievements for healthcare, and has been designed to allow flexibility of the functional layout without compromising the consistency of the architectural concept.
