The project arises from the recognition of the problems of the existing hospital, which is part of the Azienda Ospedaliera of Desenzano del Garda. Such concerns are identified as:

- shortage of beds

- inadequacy of the general layout

- compression of the E.R.

The expansion is divided into three main areas:

- a new pavilion with E.R, Morgue, Internal Medicine, Haemodynamic, Logistics

- redevelopment of Visitor’s Entrance

- adaptation of existing spaces according to the new organizational system

The expansion of the structure determines a shift in balance of functional health activities, while retaining a filter to the accessibility of direct users to outpatient areas, diagnostic services, areas of hospitalization.

The distribution pattern guarantees the separation between the paths of patients who access emergency areas, diagnostic services and specialist, and visitors.

A new volume reconnects the entrance pavilion and the existing pavilions, and allows to configure a consistent path for visitors.
