The project concerns the Doubling of the Polytechnic Institute of Turin, which led to the realization of a new large body consisting of four blocks b1, d1, d2, c1. The functional layout houses departments, teaching rooms, research labs, a departmental library, and general services over 42,500 m2.
M1 Channel represents the binding ring with the current seat of the Polytechnic and the cornerstone between the latter and the new buildings.
The two bridge-shaped buildings that house the Department of Automation – IT, Electronics cross Corso Castelfidardo, uniting with M17 Channel d1 and d2, measuring 42 m x 17 m.
M17 Channels create altogether with the overpasses and with M24 Channel, measuring 168 m x 24 m c1, a functional and volumetric integration of the rectangle.
Other important interventions concern:

  • restoration of the Ex-Fucine b2, intended for offices and laboratories over 7,068 m2
  • an underground yard b3 with 4,500 m2 for classrooms and training rooms
  • cafeteria d5, heart of the public services, is a building on three levels for 1,300 m2
  • new Research Centre GMPT-E c1 - c2
  • new indoor multi-story garage d7
