Val d'Astico is a wide corridor that runs with N-S direction for 55 km, leaving the urban area of Vicenza, continuing along the area bounded on the east by Colli Euganei and on the west by Colli Berici, until it enters the province of Padua, crossing its south-west portion, intersecting different waterways, and finally reaching the Province of Rovigo.

The crossing of the Adige River, the most important of the abovementioned waterways, is realized with a cable-stayed bridge with total length of 980 m, connecting Ca 'Bianca on the north bank with Polisenella on the south bank.

The cable-stayed bridge has a main span of 310 m and shore spans of 135 m, with a reinforced concrete deck and a dual carriageway road section.
The project envisages 3 tunnels: the first, called Albettone Tunnel, is a natural tunnel spanning under Monte Castellaro, while the other two, Agugliaro and Saline, are artificial tunnels.
