Idrovia Ferrarese is a waterway of the city of Ferrara, a hydraulic facility whose purpose is to connect River Po in Pontelagoscuro with the Adriatic coast at Porto Garibaldi.
The project concerns Lot 1, rehabilitation of Boicelli channel for the purposes of navigation of vessels of European Class V, which is to cross the city of Ferrara from the lock of Pontelagoscuro to the village of Baura.
Boicelli Channel
The facilities along the channel concern re-sectioning and adaptation of the artificial facilities required by the qualification values of Class V.
In the bend approaching Porta Reno, downstream from the bridge over via Bologna, a guided navigation system is provided, by means of tug and tow with support devices, due to a bend towards the right bank with a radius under 250 m.
River bank protection
Re-profiling allowed for the removal and storage of the humus so as to recover, if it is cost-effective, the abovementioned types of materials for the construction of the new bank protection facility.
